Obituary of Helen A. Olszewski

Olszewski, Helen A. (Cichy) of Audubon and formerly of Whiting and Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, died on August 4, 2014 at her home in Shannondell of Valley Forge. Mrs. Olszewski was born in Manhattan, New York City, on February 16, 1921, a daughter of the late Walter and Stella (Ymilita) Cichy. She was 93. Mrs. Olszewski graduated from John Jay High School. She was a homemaker and along with her late husband and daughter took many vacations where they collected rocks and minerals. They traveled to Canada, the East Coast, and the Rockies. She enjoyed gardening and was excellent at wallpapering and house painting and did so for many family members. Mrs. Olszewski was the widow of John K. Olszewski who died in 2009 and with whom she shared 69 years of marriage. She is survived by her son, Watson Olszewski ( Maria) of Eagleville; by her grandchildren, Elena L. Shroyer (Brent) and John Olszewski (Melissa); and by her great-grandchildren, Riley and Zoey Shroyer. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Elsie A. Olszewski and by her brothers, Watson W. and Alexander Cichy. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Mass, Wednesday, August 13, 10:00 AM at St. Eleanor Catholic Church, 6th Avenue & Locust Street, Collegeville, where friends may call from 9:00 to 9:45 AM. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family in Our Lady of Czestochawa Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mrs. Olszewski's memory may be made to: the Amigos de Jesus Orphanage in Honduras, 126 Woodland Avenue, Malvern, PA 19355 OR to the Montgomery Hospice, 25 Fornance Street, Norristown, Pa 19401.
